Our Rabbi

Rabbi Steven Rubenstein

Rabbi Steven J. Rubenstein received his ordination from The Academy for Jewish Religion in 1996. Prior to coming to Beverly, Rabbi Rubenstein served congregations in San Francisco, California and in El Paso, Texas. He has a Masters Degree in Jewish Communal Service from the Hornstein Program at Brandeis University where he specialized in working with senior adults.  A native and resident of Massachusetts for the majority of his life, he enjoys using the ocean as a metaphor for the vast world

of spirituality that he brings to his teaching and his spirituality at TBA.

Since his arrival, he has become an integral part of not only the Jewish community of the North Shore, but also an important figure in the City of Beverly. He serves as a board member of several committees that include The North Shore Advisory Committee of the Anti-Defamation League and Beverly Boot Straps (the local food pantry).  Rabbi Rubenstein is currently the Chairperson of the North Shore Rabbinic Association and a member of the Beverly Rotary Club.  He is also recognized as an advisor to the Jewish Rehabilitation Center, a local nursing home and serves as a chaplain at Beverly Hospital.

He looks forward to the time that he spends with his two daughters, Batya and Tova, and his wife Lynn. His hobbies include photography, and collecting Jewish baseball memorabilia.  His articles appear on occasion in the Jewish Journal.
