The Temple B’nai Abraham Book Club meets about every other month and is open to members and non-members. We discuss the books and enjoy a cup of tea with a bite to eat. Often, chocolate is involved. If you are new to the community, this is a good way to meet people and get to know them a bit better.
Among the books we have discussed are:
- The Ladies Auxiliary
- Rashi’s Daughters, Book 1
- Eat, Pray, Love
- Sarah’s Key
- Peony in Love
- The Zookeepers Wife
- The Ghost of Hannah Mendes
- The Covenant
- The Kite Runner
- The History of Love
On January 20, we will discuss The Help by Kathryn Stockett at Sue Carnevale’s home. Her address and directions are available from the temple office.
We are scheduled to discuss The Book Thief by Markus Zusak on March 3 and People of the Book, by Geraldine Brooks on May 5. This could change, so please contact Linda at lgoodspeed@verizon.net for confirmation.

I am enjoying this book and thank Leslie Colten and Anita Freed for lending me their copies, as well as Eileen Edelstein for offering! Looking forward to another lively discussion with you ladies. Elissa
I look forward to seeing as many of you at book club as possible. The book lends itself to a lively discussion and those of us who are regular participants would love to see new people with new thoughts and ideas to share. If anyone needs a ride, please contact me. Eileen Edelstein
Really liked the HELP, and think it should be required reading for high schools everywhere. It was well written and a great choice! Look forward to seeing all of you at Sue’s house this Wednesday.
