It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our dear member Harry Silverstein. Funeral services will be at Temple B’nai Abraham on Friday, July 1, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. followed by interment at Sons of Abraham Cemetery, Cole Street. The family will receive visitors at Temple B’nai Abraham Friday following the burial, Sunday and Monday from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. with shiva minyan at 7 p.m. at the home of Joel and Kristen Silverstein. The congregation offers its condolences to Mike, Rich, Kathy, Joel, Kristen, Benjamin and Eli. May God comfort them in their grief among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
The Board of Directors will meet tonight, Wednesday June 29 at 7 PM to consider extending an offer of employment to one of two Rabbinical candidates, or in the alternative to consider continuing the search process. Interested congregants are invited to attend. Alan Pierce

This coming weekend beginning Friday, June 24, through Sunday, June 26, we are pleased to invite you to meet and socialize with a candidate for our spiritual leader position visiting from Arizona. At this time, the rabbi would like to keep the candidacy confidential so we have decided not to publish the rabbi’s name on the web site. On Friday, June 24 at 7PM, there will be a special opportunity for families to attend a child friendly service to welcome the Sabbath. The Kiddush following the service will include a make your own ice cream sundae treat for kids of all ages. On Saturday, June 25, the rabbi will be leading the morning service, chanting Torah, and offering a d’var Torah that is sure to inspire and enlighten us. After Shabbat morning services there will be a light luncheon. On Sunday morning the rabbi will lead morning minyan and have additional interviews. Everyone is encouraged to attend one or more of these services or social events so that they can have an opportunity to meet and speak with the rabbi.
