Rosh Hodesh: It’s a Girl Thing is being offered as a monthly program for girls in grades 8 and 9. Rosh Hodesh uses Jewish values and engaging activities to empower adolescent girls to build their self-esteem, leadership skills, and Jewish identity. Girls gather monthly in an intimate setting with guidance from a Moving Traditions-trained adult leader to grapple with the issues they care about most, including body image, popularity, fostering friendship, romantic relationships, and decision-making. The curriculum is cutting-edge, innovative, and easy to use. The program has been thoroughly researched and tested and has been used by hundreds of partners for nearly a decade. Rosh Hodesh is a girl-centered program, and because girls choose to participate, they continue to participate.
Our introductory meeting was held in November with group leader Lori Schilsson. This program is open to all girls in grades 8 & 9 living in the North Shore. For more information email deb.vozella@tbabeverly.org or call 978-927-3211 ext.14.
This program is generously funded by a grant from The Jewish Women’s Endowment Fund.
