Jewish Response to … the Ethical Treatment of Animals
avatar

Sunday, March 4, 2012 2 PM Temple Shalom Back to the Future: Ancient Roots and Modern Kashrut Featuring Rabbi Natan Margalit The way that we treat animals, especially when we choose to use them for food, touches on the very essence of Judaism. In this workshop, we will explore Jewish attitudes and practices of ethical slaughter. (Don’t worry. There won’t be any practical demonstrations!) We will look both at the ancient sources which direct us to respect the sacredness of all life, as well as the way that modernity has influenced Jewish practice – in ways both positive and negative. Join members of Temple B’nai Abraham and Temple Shalom at this the next program in the Jewish Response to … series.
