Yahrzeits This Week

Social Action Committee Minutes, 7/15/12 Rabbi’s D’Var Torah – Five daughters of Tzelafchad. Discussion about ECCO (Essex County Community Organizing) interfaith community organizing. SAC agreed that participation in this organization was of interest but needs to look for a potential congregant who may have an interest. A discussion about the more effective use of the website followed as folks spoke about how to get the word out about many of the activities SAC is engaged with. Draft legislative-K’hilot K’doshot handout. Report on Family Promise - Focus on launching program in November, Rabbi suggested that perhaps a bar/bat mitztvah student may want to adopt this program as part of mitzvah work. Care for the garden Food Collection – Food collection during the summer consists of sandwich makings: peanut butter, jelly and tuna, or any other non-perishable items that you might pack into a lunch. Kosher food goes to TNT every other month and non-kosher goes to Beverly food pantry. Monday Night Supper - this monday (7/16) Report of Part II “Jewish Response to… Grant funded JFNS – $1,000. Fun Family Concert Featuring Jewish Rocker Sheldon Low!
Bring the family to a live summer concert with Jewish rocker Sheldon Low at the JCC Outdoor Pool in Marblehead. Sheldon Low will perform Tuesday, July 24, 6:00-7:00pm. Bring a picnic or enjoy dinner from Marla’s Poolside Cafe. Low performs around the country for youth and family audiences. He was a huge hit at the JCC last summer and families are excited for his command performance. “His concert has a universal appeal that all families will love,” said the JCC’s Heather Greenberg. “It’s a great way to spend an evening with your kids.” The Sheldon Low concert is open to everyone. Zichrona L’vracha, May Her Memory Be for A Blessing
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelyn Fox, mother of our long time member Lorreta Deitch. Funeral services will be held at Temple B’nai Israel of Beachmont, 1 Wave Ave., Revere, on Tuesday, July 17 at 11 a.m. Interment in Everett cemeteries 232 Fuller Street, Everett, MA. The congregation offers its condolences to Loretta and Stephen and their family. May they be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
