Time to Sign Up for the Family Promise Initiative

Please sign up to participate in the Family Promise initiative:

As many of you know, TBA is now a support congregation for the Family Promise of the North Shore Boston initiative to address homelessness. We are joining a large number of churches and other synagogues to provide shelter and support services to homeless families. As a support congregation, we will be providing volunteers to support the host congregations for a total of 4 weeks over the course of a year. Our synagogue will not be hosting the families.

We would like to start compiling a list of members who are interested in volunteering a couple of hours, four times a year. There are volunteer opportunities for all ages, so this can be a fun and rewarding family activity.

Volunteers will
·         Help prepare and serve meals
·         Assist with homework
·         Help the families move in and out of the congregation
·         Interact and provide moral support
·         Help with other activities as needed

Contact Arnie Cowan to add you to our contact list. We will  keep you abreast of developments with the program and let you know the dates in which TBA will be volunteering. Being on this list does not obligate you, but will let us know that you are interested in being given the opportunity to volunteer when needed. To sign up, contact Arnie Cowan, 978-927-3463.

You can see fuller information about the initiative in the recent FPNSB newsletter.

If you are interested in hearing an update on the program and meeting other volunteers, please consider attending* this event:
