Beverly Blend Coffee House Saturday March 13

Enjoy an evening of contemporary acoustic music with folk, blues, R&B and jazz at Beverly Blend Coffeehouse.

The Bob Kramer Trio hosts and performs. Gay Sheldon, vocals/percussion; Alan Foucault, bass/vocals; and Bob Kramer, multiple instruments/vocals. The band appears throughout New England, offering a unique blend of blues/folk/jazz for a “rootsy, rockin’ & blue” sound with echoes from the Delta to the urban landMicrosoft Word - Promo shot for Beverly.docscape.

 

Also, solo guitarist Scott Ouellette performs folks, rock, country and classical music. Ouellette has appeared throughout the Boston area, at the Firehouse Center for the  Arts in Newburyport and in New York City at the Palladium. He finds his inspiration in Michael Hedges, Pat Metheny and Christopher Parkening. Ouellette released “Straight Ahead” in 2007, his debut CD with 11 tracks of original solo guitar arrangements.

Mark Your Calendar for Club Shabbat

Our next Club Shabbat date is Saturday, March 13. Students in grades 5 and up, and their families, are especially invited to attend Shabbat services this morning. Experience Shabbat with your friends.

Services begin at 9 a.m., and we ask that all of our Club Shabbat families arrive by 9:30. Please note that this service counts toward Junior Congregation requirements.

TBA also will hold a new Tot Shabbat program on this date. Be sure to check it out if you, your relatives or your friends have younger children at home. As always, Shabbat services are open to the community.

Singer/Songwriter Sheldon Low is Coming to TBA March 21

Sheldon will visit Temple B’nai Abraham on Sunday March 21 as a participant in our Community Learning Day. He will meet with students throughout the morning and perform with them in a concert at 11am. This program is free and open to the public so bring your friends! A complete schedule of Community Day Learning Events will be  available on our website within a few days. Check out Sheldon’s website www.sheldonlow.com to learn more about this talented young artist and listen to his music. CDs are available for purchase in the temple office.

Sheldon Low is the newest face in Jewish music performing rock concerts, ‘Light Up Shabbat’ services, and leading Artist-in-Residency weekends in Jewish communities throughout the United States.  Low has an undeniable appeal to youth and family audiences, not only as a musician, singer/songwriter, and entertainer, but most importantly, as a Jewish educator and role model.

Wine Tasting Event Adds Babysitting

This year our wine tasting event will include babysitting for all children ages 1 year and older. Reservations for babysitting are required. Email office@tbabeverly.org to reserve space. Please include number of children and their ages in your email.

Don’t Miss Our Next Parent Coffee, March 7

Parents of TBA Religious School children: You are invited to join us at our next Parent Coffee on Sunday, March 7, at 11 a.m. This is a fun, informal opportunity to get to know some of the other parents in the school. Please note the change in time to 11 a.m. for this month’s event: There’s so much happening at the Temple this particular morning that meeting space is at a premium. We hope to see you there.

New Tot Shabbat Class at TBA

Join us for a new Tot Shabbat program led by Jewish educator Miriam Blue. Once a month Miriam will sing, play games and tell stories while teaching our youngest members about Shabbat and the holidays. Children from newborn through grade 1 are welcome. All children under four must be accompanied by an adult. This program is free and open to the public.

The ABC’s of a Passover Seder…You can do it; we can help

Book Club meets this Wednesday, March 3rd 7:30pm

The TBA Book Club will meet March 3rd at 7:30pm to discuss The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak. The book club with meet at the home of Jayne Gordon at 15 Old Rubbly Road in Beverly.

Please come join us whether or not you have read the book! New members are more than welcome to come and have a cup of tea and a nosh.
