On behave of the third grade class, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in the TBA congregation who donated cosmetic items for the soldiers in Iraq. We collected enough items to ship two big boxes to two local soldiers and their units. We even received a letter back from one of the soldiers thanking us for the care package.
I would also like to thank Lynn Rubenstein for taking time out of her busy schedule to teach and practice with us a few Israeli Dances. We performed these dances and sang songs to the residents at the Chelsea Jewish Home. The third graders and the residents…

Celebrate Israel at Temple B’nai Abraham! Join us on Sunday, May 2, for a celebration of all things Israeli. An invited guest will facilitate a discussion about The David Project film, “The Forgotten Refugees.” A Krav Maga (Israeli self-defense) instructor will lead two sessions for different age groups, and our own Eli Davidyan will instruct participants in cooking traditional Israeli foods. Our now customary session on Jewish meditation along with a hall of displays by our students and teachers related to their trip to Israel rounds out the morning. Come celebrate Israel at the final Community Learning Day of the academic year!

In celebration of the Counting of the Omer, a time when we keep count of the days between Passover and Shavuot, we are collecting boxes of cereal to fulfill our Biblical obligation to bring a measure of grain to the Temple.
From now until May 18 — Erev Shavuot — please bring a box (or two) of your favorite cereal to the synagogue. You are especially encouraged to bring in your donations on May 2, when you attend Community Learning Day. Donations will support Jewish Family Service and Beverly Bootstraps. Thank you.
